Pork Barrel BBQ

Pork Barrel BBQ is a manufacturer of BBQ sauces and spice rubs from Washington, DC.

Started just six months before the filming of this deal, Pork Barrel BBQ uses a recipe created by the entrepreneurs and that also took Second Place at the National BBQ Festival. This is an all natural recipe with no preservatives.

Despite this, Pork Barrel BBQ somehow snagged a deal with a national supermarket chain (though shelf-life remains your Stats Shark's main concern) and the entrepreneur estimate they will earn $1,400,000 by the end of their year.

This is enough to bring Barbara on as a partner, though at a steep 50% stake in the company. Even though the entrepreneurs seemed fairly conservative at valuing their business at just $500,000 given age and sales, after Barbara's bite it is, on paper, now worth only $100,000.

That's gotta hurt.

Updates

Later in the same season Pork Barrel BBQ was featured in an update in which the entrepreneurs state that the product is currently being tested in Costco stores. It's also now being carried in 130 grocery stores. Lastly, Pork Barrel BBQ has opened a restaurant in Alexandria, VA, just outside of Washington DC.
